25-Year-Old Joins Firebirds Following Season in Sweden
The Coachella Valley Firebirds, proud affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Seattle Kraken, announced today that the team has signed forward Alex Swetlikoff to a one-year American Hockey League contract.
Swetlikoff, 25, spent the 2025-26 season with MoDo Hockey in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan, recording eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 45 regular season games. The Kelowna, BC native also skated in two qualification games with MoDo.
The 6-foot-3 forward returns to North America after playing parts of two seasons in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors and Henderson Silver Knights. During his time in the Pacific Division, Swetlikoff notched 16 points (9 goals, 7 assists) in 66 games.
Swetlikoff has also skated in 108 career ECHL regular season games between the Savannah Ghost Pirates and the Fort Wayne Komets, totaling 39 goals and 51 assists for 90 points. During the 2024-25 season, Swetlikoff added 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 11 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Prior to his professional career, Swetlikoff played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kelowna Rockets and Everett Silvertips, totaling 138 points (58 goals, 80 assists) in 178 regular season games.
